Today i'm happy to post this thread in order to tell everyone that i'm gonna have a 100% change of lifestyle!
After jumping from one job to the other in the biogenetics laboratories research, i finally recognize that it's unfortunately not something that will bring me the joy, happiness and money that i need...
consequently i getting ready to enter the real poker world:crown: and i'm so happy of it!!
I'm going to have a formation for one month in march to become a pro poker dealer!!
The center of formation was created by poker pros (maybe you saw Michel Heinzenberg on the WPT paris open final table) in order to give the casino and the poker circles some pro dealers...
In france, Poker is growing every day! Poker rooms are oppening and alot of casinos and poker circle need workers..
..i'm gonna pay 1500 for this formation and will have 100% chance to find a job that pays at least 2000 to 3000 a month!!
if i finish "major" of that formation for the month of march i can choose where i want to go work!! offcourse my aim is to finish first!!
So i'm gonna move to paris soon! and maybe if you go there i'll meet you at the table and give you some good cards!!:crown:

Alrite every here's a shortened diary of my first week at the Poker dealer Formation!
It's Wonderfull!!lol
we're 21 "pupils" and first week was work without chips to learn all the pokers we need to know to work on french casino and poker circles! 12 pokers for the dealer choice tables for now (soon we gonna learn to deal badugi, 2to seven triple draw for some special limit cash table)
i have to say i learned alot of course for all the dealing process but mostly on the "to do" and the "no no" to do to hold a table corectly! it's really a new sight of poker for me and i encourage everyone to consider what the dealer work is!
the game we learn the dealing process are :
NLHE
Double Holdem
PLOM
PLOM 5cards
O8
O8 5 cards
Aviation (sort of pineapple)
Courchevelle (it's a pure french Poker)
Courchevel hi lo
Stud 7
Stud 7hi lo
Nullo (2 to 7 Stud7)
i have to say that playing online some of this games was a big advantage for reading the cards faster!
some results on reading cards and part of the pot to give to player test i had : this was on a sheet
Texas Holdem TEST1 : 18/18
Dealer Choice TEST1 : 21/23
Yes it's the best score!!:D
and as some of us were really advanced on the technics we started dealing with chips on a pot limit structure!! and that's a big mess wow! but i'mgood at it:cool: i think i was a calculator in a past life :P
it's really motivating and everyone is really nice! i'm always on the last to stay there because one of the formator have a furry of dealing after each day so we play a lil cash game with play money jus for fun! we played with the chef a poker Pro Michel Heizenberg (3rd of the WPT paris 2004) and actually he dealt some of our cards just for fun!! he's a bad dealer lol but realy funny!! i took a video as one of the formator who was still here said he never saw him dealing before and that he had to waait 6 month to finally see him dealing!! lol !! it's history now and got it on my phone lol!!
we hada MTT play money today and i dealt the finale table (as my TT got cracked by QJ after my shortstack went allin UTG and called by 107 and QJ:( Q on flop:mad:) but was fun!!
that's all for now!

this week we had a dealer turnover on some 250 and 100 (playmoney)PL dealer's choice table, when you're not dealer you're a player! thing is that you are allowed to rebuy once freely but second rebuy is 1 and other rebuy are 1 also(just to not donk indefinetly lol)
so at those table when you're dealer you have to deal for the poker that the dealer choose out of the 12 listed above!! it's really fun and tricky!
here are 2 video i made with my phone during this week! me at the dealer seat comig soon:P!

Aviation is a ame where oyu have 4 cardin the hole. After the first round of beting you ave to discard one of you cardandafter theecon round of betting you have to disard another one ad then finish the hand like a normal holdem hand so i folded My AK when the turn showed another T and actually it was good because someone had quads tens!! lol
i was still chip leader aft the end of this hand!!

sorry because i didn't do new movies i kinda forgot it because it was the end of the formation and things were going fast and now it's over....the formation ended with a tournament in which the starting stacks were made according the results in (free)cash games during the 4 past weeks...and i started with 5650 instead of the basic 1500 for those who were down in the cash games....
as we didn't have time to play a normal tournament as usual we played a mega turbo tourney(doubling blinds every 15 mins) which may have been quiet unfair for the short stacks but not for me:D after a good run i was the chip leader but before the finale table i took a bad beat and so i only made 2nd by the end of the day i was very Short stack in HU:( because the other chip leader was on a good run except!
actually i as happy to see him busting the last player before Head up because i was short stacked and mostly because only the 2 first got a prize!!
i got a 50 buy ticket in a poker shop while the 1rst had a 100 one!!
that's tottally nice as i need a new poker carpet for my parisian gaming nights:D
oh BTW......
(trrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr--drumroll--rRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrRrrrrrrrrr..trrrrrrrRRrrrrRrrrrrrr rr)
suspense
trrrrrrrrrRRRrrrrrrrrrTTTTTrrrrrrrrrrrrRRrrrrrr.RR rrrrrr :beaten:(who slapped the drummer)
......I'm gonna work at the Aviation Club de France on the Champ Elysιe!!:win:
here is my certificate

it says bla bla bla i'm the best bla bla bla bravo bravo etc...:P
so i'm tottally happy to have done this formation because now i'm entering the real poker world!!
i'm starting working on the 24 of april!!
I'm gonna do as much as i can to be able to make one international tournament soon as a poker dealer
and for sure i'll post one video of me dealing some hands soon!
....when you come to france don't forget to try to play there!! i'll deal you some bad bea....HUmmmm...sopme good cards:P

NOKYJOKER
09-22-2008, 06:47 PM
Ok!
Sorry if i didn't continue the story before...
I started on the first of may, so i'm reaching the end of my fifth month now. And it's been a great experience so far!
i've worked mostly in the nights, from 10pm to 7am ; 7pm to 4 am or 8pm to 5 am, but also in the afternoon when it's the more overcrowed from 2 pm to 11pm or 4pm to 1am.... so you see it's always 9 hours a day at the club for a poker dealer... depending on the day i have 1 hour to 2hours break during those 9 hours and breaks are 10mins (no more but ofently less:rolleyes:). We usually have a 30 mins shift on the tables and that's the basicall table time for everyone BUT the average is more something about 50mins at the table just because of the dealer's roll over that can't be better...
Depending on the table structure (i'm talking about cash games) the time on table for a dealer is really strict!
This way on the 500 Dealers choice it can be 30 to 50 mins maximum but on the 1k ,2k,3k....5k, 10k it can't be more than 30mins! That is for the players... to prevent hem to be angry about one dealer that gave hem a bad run etc...
When i enter the Aviation Club de France there was alot of 500 Dealer"s Choice table and in a way this kind of table is really what makes this club so special because it gives a choice of 12 games played with a Pot limit structure and you can't find that anywere else...
But now the big players have a bit given up on the hilo games so it's Omaha only time! The big tables are now mostly Omaha4 and Omaha5 Pot Limit instead of the 12 games included in the dealer's Choice table! These table are the most difficult for a poker dealer because you have to do alot of things at the same time. The most difficult one is to keep the pot size in head.
When a player want to bet the pot you have to tell him quiet fast how much he can/have to bet !!!
Also the players profiles at these tables are hard to manage with, especially when they just lost a 3k pot on the river:eek:
Sometimes there's a 1k NLHE but this table is not here so often... the biggest NLHE table that runs 24/7 are the 250 (Blinds 5/5)
Off course NLHE is the game that is played the most in here but this is at some lower structures! so the 2 thirds of the table in the club are 50 NLHE (blinds 2/2) and 100 NLHE(2/4).
These tables are also hard to manage with but mostly because there's more profile than on the big table :
there are off course good players that know the rules and know how to play but also alot of newbies that never talk at their turn or do alot of string bets:rolleyes:
NOw that you got a good picture of the poker at the club i can say that it's really fun to work there! first because it's a true tough work maybe as hard physically as mentally so that's a great challenge everyday! i love action and i got plently of it everyday!
I like the fact that we're some kind of referee at the table, we have to ensure that the rules are appllied at any moment and we have to keep the game safe from cheaters also we have the role to maintain the poker etiquette and that's definitely not that easy..
Also recently there was some famous players there, So i dealt cards for Freddy deeb , phil Laak and jennifer Tilly also some famous french players that you never heard abou t lol but you prolly will (Bruno 'king' Fitoussi, Anthony Lelouche who came 2nd in the HORSE 50K in 2007 , Patrick Bruel who won a bracelet in1998 etc..) too bad we're not allowed to ask for their signature lol)
that's all i got for you for now cya soon and take care!!

Yesterday i was getting ready for a dealer change on a 50€ table, in the back of the table's current dealer, when he dealt this hand just under my eyes....
preflop
UTG folded and everyone till the cuttoff folded too...
the CUTOFF raise to 12€...
the BUTTON passes
SB passes too
BB raises to 36€
CUTOFF calls 36€
( the pot size is 74€ )
FLOP :Ah::As::Ac:
BB bets 30€
CUTOFF calls 30€
( the pot size is 134€ )
TURN :Tc:
BB bets 30€
CUTOFF calls 30€
( the pot size is 194€ )
RIVER :7c:
BB bets allin for 70€
CUTOFF calls 70€
( the pot size is 334€ )
BB shows :Td::Th:
CUTOFF shows :Ad::Qh:
the BB have his full AAA TT beaten by a better combination which here is quads Aces so....everyone on the table go completly crazy...
HURRAAAA..clap...clap...wooOOOOoHOOOoooo clap clap...BAD BEATTTT!!!!...clap clap...JACK POT!!!.....!!!clap clap
The guy on the cutoff wins the pot with his quads aces + 25% of the bad beat jackpot which is 5000€ !!!
The BB wins 50% of the bad beat jackpot because he got his... 10 000€:win:
The 7 other players of the table shares the last 25% of the jackpot which means 714€ for each one...
i give a wink to the my buddy dealer on the table which do exactly that.....lol !
i walk back to the dealer's recreation room whispering sarcasticly to my friend :"GL with the tips;):D"

I think it`s quite common for b+m card rooms to have requirements like aces full beaten by quads to get the bad beat jackpot. Online rooms are much tougher in their requirements. Presumably because they deal so many more hands.
It`s quad 7s or better here isn`t it? Should be any quads imo.

actually the minimum combination requirement in the club is Aces full beaten by a better aces full!!
Also both hole cards have to enter in the 5 cards combination .
only thing is that a pair vs pair with AAA on board doesn't work, in this case of AAA on the board and that someone has a pocket pair, the winning hand has to be a quad ace or better (other quads or str8 flushes)
and Yes it's really easy to win it so just come in Paris and try your "bad" luck:D

a player that was away to smoke a cigaret just came back, he missed the blinds on the round before so in fact he was oblide to post the missed blinds which is 2 BUT as hewas UTG at this moment he chose to post the straddle (4)...
so here is the hand...
Preflop
UTG+1 : folds
UTG+2 : RAISE TO 16
UTG+3 : folds
UTG+4 : folds
UTG+5 : RAISE TO 36
Button : folds

UTG+2 : ALLIN 46
POT SIZE is 112 + 136 = 248
3players are still in the hand and everyone is allin
So i'm doing the pot and getting ready to show the turn and river but i'm waiting cause the players are talking abou twhat they have :
UTG+5 says : come on guys this one is for me i got 2nd Max hand he shows :9d::9c: which give him trips 9's...
The guy who firstly put the straddles seems weirdly not so unhappy to here about the fact that the guys have hit his set! he didn't show is hand instantanely but he asked the third guy on what he had....
Third guy said i got the "Arrows" which is AA off course, and he shows
:As::Ah: a bit disapointed that the other one hit his set 9's:rolleyes:
There's only one guy who haven't show his hand yet , the "straddle" guy and actually he doesn't want to show his hand...but still strangely confident...
TURN
:2d:
RIVER
............:Ad:
UTG+5 wins the pot with a set of Aces
The straddles guy goes on tilt:mad: and flashes his hand with force on the carpet, he had :Ts::Td::eek::eek:
Everyone is stunned on the table and the stradle guy got up of his chair saying all sort of insanities like : it's unbelievable!! do you guys(dealers) give each other the word to **** me every time!!! etc etc...

Wow, very sick :beaten: and players think bad beats don't happen when playing live . Since I play live also, I've seen lots of bad bets and suffered a few myself in some very similar situations. Thanks for posting it Noky and take care
