Women haven't been playing poker as long as men so I think women only tournies are a good way to get more of the ladies involved in this great game.
Maybe in a few more years this argument could be valid, but not now.

You raise a good argument, BUT are they really learning anything
However, now women don't take this personally, but I prefer to play against the great male players on this site any day of the week.
I'm not convinced the ladies only tourneys make them (for the most part) better players; particularly the rebuy games which are donk fests and which I do not play and I know of several other gals who are great players who do not play them either. Those RB's IMO hurt their learning curve because every other hand or so is all in and they turn into a bingo game:rolleyes:
Playing with the guys helped me tremendously when I went through the transition of playing live for many years and then trying to adapt to online play - totally different.
I don't care if they keep the ladies tourneys going or not, but most would be better players competing with the men :) *ducks head while women throw things at me* :beaten:  :D
Best way to learn how to play good poker ladies is to jump in and play the mixed games (for the newer ladies to the site) :)

but women are tougher to read.. i think they make it rebuys so more women feel comfortable since they get the option of a second chance. rebuys almost guarantees that it becomes a bingo game whether its for men or women. its not the poker site's or casino's prerogative to teach women how to play poker. if poker is nothing but a time killer or something they do randomly for a couple hours then the desire to learn seriously would never be pursued.

At last some people aere looking at my original post and are actually thinking about my statement.
There are a couple of good comments, indeed from a woman too,but I disagree with some of your points but I do see where you are coming from

Enzolito is Male
I am not sexist, nor do I ever complain about bad play from others, bad beats or other such trivialities.
I am not KING in disguise...whoever that may be....and have no problem being beaten by a woman......In fact Id probably enjoy that....
COMING IN THE NEXT TWO DAYS my thoughts and explanations for my statement of FACT
Women should stand up and be counted
Men should stand up and be counted

I do believe what enzolito said is equality should be even. I agree. So does Survivor!!
Site is revamping scheduals for a more equal or more spread out lay out for everyone as it should be. I see 2 womens only tourneys with ribbons every week. As for the weekdays i know there are leagues, but also a ladys only.
Does sound sexist agreed! If that is it enz...
Specialy since men have asked for a mens only tourney too, so we arent donked out by some of the best players on site ! ( ahem witch are women)
I dont care for battle of the sex's , but hmm :beaten: pot calling kettle black. I happen to help run League of Nations.
enz's are you suggesting something here ? I personaly would love to hear what you have in mind. Go for it!!!:win:

However,
Whilst I am gratified that my statements ARE resulting in thought and PROVOKING comments by the forum members,I have to restate the following.
I HAVE NOT MADE ANY COMMENTS OR EXPRESSED ANY VIEWS ON THE SUBJECT.
Everyone who is making assumptions on my statements must surely realize that they are putting words in my mouth,or at least on the forum pages, that may indeed be correct...or otherwise.
I will start to post my views over the weekend in a sries of articles with breaks in between to allow for comments ,pro or con,to be posted and so digested.
If my statements have provoked such polarization, especially amongst some of the females on the forum, then sparks are going to fly when I post my views.
SO WATCH THIS SPACE
