Scammed by TRODAI

So you know how you build relationships with players and think they are cool and trustworthy, lend them money when they're down and out so they can grind it back, they return the money and no problems right? Well, not so right with a regular player named trodai of whom I initially loaned $30 and promptly recieved it back. This guy apparantly busts again and gives me a 2:1 deal on a $100 so, obviously I take it, as he is usually a winning player and has paid me back prior. He busts again and gives me this story about how he's expecting cash out checks from carbon and can pay me back soon but wants to play, so I finally send him another 15 and say that's it. He tries and tries to get more outa me, but I say not until I get something back. One month later and "cashed out 4x to make payments on the house" but he can't pay me back. :cool: Just thought I'd like to spread the bad karma out as much as possible.

Well, I have to say: been there, done that.. and never again!

Ok, it is very easy to say I would never help a person in need with money. As some one said, if you don't have the money you should not play either. That is very true!

Trodai came to me in april, and asked for money... Ok, I am such nice person that I helped him. 5 dollar! That is not much, I can afford that and also be with out if the person not repays me. I transfered 5 dollar to this pooooor guy! He came to me and wanted to have my msn. You can not have to many friends, right? After 5 sec I had him on my msn. He praise the lord for me giving him 5 dollar. He would pay me back as soon as possible. Jaja.. we'll see about that. After a while he came back to me and said he lost them and if I could just lend him 5 more... ehum.. jaja ok.. 5 more. That is 10 dollar, not to much. He promisse to repay thursday at 02.00 server time when he gets his "sponsor money". Ok, I can wait to that.. Thursday came, and no money! I wrote him a ugly mail. If I can't play poker I can write ugly mails. After that mail I got my 10 dollar back. Everything seems to be in order....

After a little while this guy came to me again.... and begging for money... We are not talking about: May I borrow 5 dollar! ... No, it is begging, crying and so on! I think a small child begg less for candy! I was trying to say no! He told me that he would repay back big in the end of april, when he gets the very big sponsor money, bonus money!!! Jaja.. I am weak! I lend him the damn money.... when it was a few days left my bankroll hits 2 dollar... And I thought no deposit for me. Than trodai had manage to get 55 dollar from me.. it is sad! (I personally was in a tourney period, no wonder my money was disappearing. But still, trodai had 55 dollar of mine! Just before last april he needed money to finish his raked hands for this big bonus he would get. I said, I can't lend you anymore money because I have none.. He went mad at me and wanted ME to deposit so he could borrow money from me, how sad isn't that? NOOOO! of course not! I don't deposit for some one else... never!!!!

At 1st of May I logged in on carbon, I was excited over me getting back my bankroll. 55 dollar, it would be fine! Guess what.. there was no money for me! long nose to me...

Ha... I mailed trodai and I asked him.. Asked nice and easy in only one sentence if I could get my money back now when he has money. 1k in bonus! as he said!

so its not just 1 person whos been scammed by the infamous trodai, yet every night, we see him playin on the tables, laughing and joking with not a care in the world.. as i said the other night, i joined 1 of his tables and blatantly told him he was a scumbag for robbing people and not paying them back, and asked him when, if ever, he was gonna pay them back.. u know the replys i got.. i know this aint a poker.com, carbon, problem, but surely they can do something.. theres no room on this site for liars, robbers or cheats.. what about paying for a 1 way ticket to scotland, im sure we'll greet him with a glasgow kiss and a swift boot in the baws:mad:

Hey! I don't expect to get my money back. I gave that story up long ago... I just wrote my story about Mr Trodai to show other how he has been working. As we can see he seems to use same trick to both me and Kotton. Sure you can see it like your thoughts.. no loan but gift. But the guy says: Can you loan me 5 dollar!!!! There should also be some kind of chat register.. from the tables... then we can think about if loan really means gift or what that means.. it is not only on msn he has been begging. Trodai him self use the word loan in the chat at the tables.

It is not the money! as trodai said to me...

What I want, is that carbon/poker.com looking over this easy function to give away money to other players. It is too easy! Ok, we who already have done this kind of thing has been learning a lesson, but there will probably be new once. I am pretty sure about that. I don't think I and Kotton are the only weak and kind poker player who gave away our money. I don't care how Trodai sees it... or how some one else sees the situation. It was a stupid thing! Done is done...

But in the future maybe this function can be change.... maybe be thoses transfered money can be frozen in away. Let's say some one transfer me 5 dollar... I would not be able to withdraw these money ever.. As soon as I have deposited or been winning X dollar those 5 dollar should go back to the one who transfered them directly. Or, I would immediately lose the money when I have X dollar in my bankroll. Or you can only recieve like 25 dollar totally... but when you have repay it all you can get new transfered money. I mean, if this player who want to borrow 5 dollar never deposit money carbon/poker.com will lose money, it must be better for them if more players deposit. Right?

I love this function in away, because there are others who have been helping me when I needed. But it is way to easy!

I think also, if there is a pattern carbon/poker.com need to do something. I wouldn't care if it was just 5 dollar! or 10.. I don't care about my money... that much. I don't believe I will ever get it back... I just want other to know about the situation and maybe be careful with this guy in the future.

It must be somekind of waring signal! It is great that there are players who will not be weak and give away their money... but there are also other weak and nice player who will.


However! I admit afterwards that this was stupid.... but done is done! But if we just drop the subject and let the guy continue to work as he has been doing... then there will be others... and soon, there will be a rumour about this and that carbon/poker.com don't care about stuff like that... and others might start do work the same way and many players might run away. As I see it, it can only lead to something bad if carbon/poker.com does not act... for their reputation. I am sure carbon/poker.com want to be a good site, which is thinking about their players. And no one should need to be afraid of been swindled in the end. Ok, it is always up to one and other to make their own choices.. but still! It is to easy!

I know other poker room that would never allow these kind of things. Before you can make a player to player transfer you need to be aware about certains things which happens when you make a transfer. For example, you can never ever play at same table in the future, you can never ever play same sngs and you can't play same tourneys for exampla. And the reciever has to play for X points to be able to withdraw this kind of money. And both player need to verificate their identity.

In the end I think carbon/poker.com can do something, even if they can't make sure our money gets back to us. If we would get the money back, trodai has to have the amount on his account. We don't know what he has in his bankroll. Still I am glad this is up, because something has to be done about this player to player transfer function.

I also don't think it's up to Carbon/Pokercs to police those who wish to transfer, regardless of whether it's a loan or gift. I wouldn't want to have to wait for Admin to approve each transactions.

There is a policy against asking/begging for donations in the forum. Perhaps there should be one for at the tables as well? Then Carbon/Pokercs could ban someone for violating this rule by issuing a chat ban and formal warning.

It doesn't necessary be manual approve require..... but maybe something more should be added for everyone security.

I am not sure if this a policy about begging at the tables would help... It is easy to just be nice to a person and soon get the email and add on msn or something, and the chat will not be recorded.. and the begging will go on outside the poker room.

This is not an easy question, because I like this transfer function too.. but I don't like to lose my money to fools. I have been helping other players and they have always repay me and also helped me back.

I chose to transfer to a friend, before I click on send I can mark this money with either gift or loan...

If gift nothing will be done with this money, and the player can do what ever he/she wants with it.

If loan... this money will be watched and as soon as this player has X money in the bankroll 5 dollar will go back to your account, or what ever amount which was choosed. Or you can request a watch to see if the player has enough money in the bankroll.... enough and enough.. X dollar.

After about 3 hours of msn spamming and several drinks, I finally caved and made my only "weak" decision of sending a final $15. Clearly the money was not a gift from I nor the others who piped up and corroborated my story as their bankrolls suffer and his continues to climb...fyi his bankroll is over 700-how do i know? He has the nerve to come sit at my 1,2 and 2,4 tables with full buy ins and lol or teehee. He was also boasting his bankroll sitting at a 10,20 limit omaha with $600.

I can only agree with you, I am glad I didn't have more money in my bankroll at the time. He knew exactly all along what he was doing! He was playing on our feelings... First praise lord about the money, later bragg about his winning on his omaha table and after awhile complains about bad beats.. and that he lost to "morons" ... than begg for more and more and just a little more money.

For everytime we were sending him money his bankroll was growing while ours getting smaller. Soon he wanted to play HU... it is not the money, he only needed raked hands. And suddenly he even won! I told him, repay first then play HU. He promisse that I would get money back if I lost. JAJA, as I believed him. I used some bankroll management at the time, if I would lose I would not go broke. I never told how much I had. When he wanted to know how much I gave him a smaller number. Jaja.. Finally he did get me at this HU table.. and I lost of course. He had always a little better. I didn't get any money from him when I lost... as I thought. He just said idiot to me.. and really told me how bad player I was. Soon he was back to beg for more money.. poor guy. Then I started to be a little ****ed of... Me, almost poor have to give him money.. hahaha... such ironi. He manage to get some money anyway but not from me. Once again he was nagging about HU.. last time I thought! Ha, he bought in with 3 dollar on kentucky table.. I don't know if he thought he would win. We started out slow, and suddenly he told me that he needed to play for his sponser.. It was his misstake because I had a good run of hands.. I killed him, and he rebuy for 3 more dollar.. and I killed him a second time. The second time he ran off like a scared rabbit.

He wanted to have more money... no way! I left him to his fate after that. The day after he wanted to play some more HU. I told him, first transfer 25 dollar to me - the buy in for kentucky, then I play with you. I think he didn't like that idea because he didn't send me any money. He said he could give me money if I lose. Nooo way! It was my game now, not his!

Kotton, I see you have more money involved to this story than I do... I understand you and I am all behind you. 55 dollar is nothing against yours. Can I get my money back.. yes I would be very happy for it.

It is for this reason that I would suggest that you never give funds to a player who you do not trust 100% (personally, I'd want their home address in case I needed to pay them a visit)... And even then, we have had cases where friends/partners have done the same thing...

In order to stop this player begging for funds and then not paying it back, I have had his P2P transfers removed... He will not be able to receive or send transfers any longer.

I apologise that you have had this experience and can only hope that what goes around comes around!

i've borrowed a couple times no more than 40 from someone and paid back. i would never take what isnt mine or cant afford to pay back (in theory). i hope not to borrow again in the future.

he sounds like someone i know who i had to keep loaning in person and on another site and end up getting myself investigated that sob was a scammer! :eek: you expect people you encounter often to have the decency to pay you back. when they start to beg excessively that is when you know they're an addict. morality escapes them. always promising to repay but prob cant since they cant help themselves from gambling it away.

Unfortunately, we are unable to forcefully remove funds off a player to settle personal debts/loans that players may arrange.

It is for this reason that I would suggest that you never give funds to a player who you do not trust 100% (personally, I'd want their home address in case I needed to pay them a visit)... And even then, we have had cases where friends/partners have done the same thing...

In order to stop this player begging for funds and then not paying it back, I have had his P2P transfers removed... He will not be able to receive or send transfers any longer.

I apologise that you have had this experience and can only hope that what goes around comes around!

Good people are out there, but alot more jerks it seems.
Never loan money you cant afford to give away, I do the same in life and it sure helps from ruining a relationship or family sitiuation.

The option that he can't doesn't matter as much as him not being able to make any other transfers. He made it clear he wasn't going to, Not only that, but he was an ass about it.

This way, no one else is harmed and it's a pretty decent punishment, because he'll bust again, and want to beg again, but oh, wait...

Actually he could if he wanted to. He could contact Support and do it the 'old fashioned way". He may have to explain what he wanted to do and why he is unable to do it himself. Or better yet, email Liam and ask for the outgoing transfer. There is always a way, just takes a little creativity...
