LET ME TELL YOU A STORY

In the days of the caveman,women are generally portrayed by us in hindsight,as being dragged about by the hair and ,no doubt,abused in as many different ways as there are stars in the sky.
Early man worshipped as his gods,things that could not be understood ...moon,sun and so on.
As the years and centuries went by things got slightly better for women and man began to discover new gods as his knowledge and his curiousity grew, Society became more structured and women and men had their appointed roles in the hunter/gatherer societies of the times.
We then had the great early civilizations,male dominated as a rule but the role of women being given more and more prominance and indeed some becme great leaders of their times,Amazonians,Boadicia,Cleopatra to name a few.
These warrior queens were indeed the forerunner of things that were to come in the 21st centuary.
The women in these early societies were also seen as being supersttious.They were practicing witchcraft and believed in devilry and ghosts.
And meanwhile Man still looked for his god...water,sun being the favourites,but basically anything to do with life.
All the great civilizations were now holding up the gods they had discovered, or rather invented to suit their needs,to the peoples they were warring against.This resulted in some of them being accepted or duplicated in diverse societies such as happened with the Greeks and Romans.

But their main god had one main function attributed to them ...they were seen as the Giver Of Life...
And the importance of the role of women was slowly accepted and their lot became much improved.

In the modern world we then had the arrival of the suffragette movement and eventually amd quite rightly their cause prevailed,as you can not defend the indefensible.
In certain countries however,women continue to be oppressed,subserviant,goods and chattle exchanged for cattle or camels in arranged marriage,
But still Man was looking for god.The giver of life.
Still today,in many countries the religion practiced has many gods and goddesses each with respective areas of responsibility and can be seen to be fanatical.....
...I do not wish to go down the path of religion per se..
However in the light of medical advances,with artificial insemination,with the test tube embryos,with the cloning of animals,with the replacing of organs and entire faces,with the development of animal and plant growth..how long before Man decides that he is the giver of life and therefore god?
All this at a time when women seem to be more involved with white and black magic and superstitions and believe in ghosts and the supernatural.
So much so that most women have had many 1st hand experiences with ghosts.......
She has sex with a guy ..she.turns around for a moment and he has vanished.
Throughout the latter years laws have been passed to protect women from exploitation.....great.
Most countries have such laws.
Then it was no longer acceptable for jobs to be allocated using sexism,racism,religious or sexual orientation,age and even prior criminality as barriers to advertised jobs.
You can not defend the indefensible especially if social progress is at stake.
The idea being that the sexes are equal and therefore there has to be Equal Opportunities.
There is a big flaw in this carpet approach
The Sexes are not equal and never shall be and never can be.PERIOD.....no pun intended.
There are so many things women do better than men and vice versa.But these are tasks that are not on a level playing field.
Nursing and teaching were the domains of women for hundreds of years but today that is not the case.
The Military was for hundreds if not thousands of years,the sole reserve of men with the Amazons and the warrior queens evident exceptions untill relatively recently.
Warfare and the weapons changed and women can point a gun or press a button just as easliy as men and they are now found in all forces evem in the front line.
Quite right too and good for them.They can stop a bullet equally as well as men.
The playing field,or killing fields have changed AND ARE NOW EQUAL.

With the Beijing Oympics starting I will point out that most sports are seggregated because of the differences between the sexes but where the playing field is even they compete at the same level.
Horse jumping for example...though women make better riders than men especially when seen from the rear.
However there was one bastion of male dominance and refuge that the latter day feminists just could not resist to break down........
THE MEN ONLY CLUBS.
Golf clubs,smoking rooms,drinking clubs..whatever...

Even these had to go but for the life of me I do not understand why.
Provided the clubs were not enciting rape,murder or political or civil unrest then why did the feminists wish the doors knocked down?
For the hell of it that is why.
Women have now had their hands freed...a bad move most men would say.Ask any man and they will tell you the same...IT IS BAD ENOUGH if you give a woman one free hand as usually it will end up around your throat.
Is it not poetic justice that due to the liberated 60 s women were supposedly freed more than they had ever been.This can be summed up in the sexual liberty that they grabbed or had thrust upon them,contraception and the right to abortion.....all of which makes life so much easier and better for men.
It is probably true since those times that gentlemen prefer blondes whereas the rest of us take what we can get.

Yes all men and women deserve to be born and die free and equal,but in between times they mostly marry.
In any area where the playing field is equal for both sexes there can be no justification for sexism or division.
Women now run countries,conglomerates,financial markets,schools,police and are rightrly found throughout the market place doing a good job.
BUT
There are many areas in every day life that are solely dominated by women to the exclusion of men,on a level playing field....but that can be another issue.

Sngger has the right of it and Lena obviously has kept her finger on he pulse of the posts and has posted some intelligent observations prior to the last.Miklosik has seemingly STRENGTHENED his stance and is far from being critical and Natsdad is getting there.
And Babsom well,has now reduced her posts to virtually one word replies or complaining about...nowt.This is the first time that I have naned names in order to direct you in the way that I am going even though several people have posted heart warming and supportive posts over the period.
ONE of you has almost hit the nail on the head.
What stance I will take is really still open to debate as I still have not taken one,but you collectively have attributed one or some to me.
It is clear that if several stances are attributed to me then eventually somebody will get it correct.Surely someone has finally tagged me?...do not be too sure....there is still a sting in the tail.
There are clues that I have left along the way,but there remains much to be said and clarified.
The whole point of this series of posts was to promote intelligent conversation and reasoning to a couple of satements which,on the surface appeared to be innocuous,as a lead up to something greater.

No she didn't, she responded to what was a deliberately provocative post (self-confessed) in the Women's club. (Oh and there's already a Boy's Club forum in reference to your other post.) What i had hope'd when i first came here. In some ways it still has these quality's or the possibilitys to be that way.
