LOL... change a few of the people and company names... and you have the story of the ENRON corporate shell game! All that is left now is the bancruptcy proceedings and the fat cat bonus checks. Amazing what devious minds come up with these days. Simply amazing how easy it is to manipulate and hide behind the corporate laws and loopholes.

:rolleyes:LMAO!

:beaten: a bit taken back though... especially by the lack of oversight and action on the part of the Kahnawake Gaming Commission...
“It’s going to be a complete examination of the company and no one will get any special preferential treatment because of a past position with the tribe or anything like that.”

Sounds like Bush Jr. saying he will launch a full investigation into the Enron matter and punish those deemed responsible. Chroniism at its finest!

I read about something like that in another forum. It is sad... and there was a Tv-program about poker cheating online, here in Sweden this spring. Sadly I missed it.... :o(

I don't know if that has happen on merge too... For awhile ago there was a guy(1) who lost every hand he was playing to another guy(2). this guy2 had nothing... nothing he should play with. Anyway, every single hand guy1 was in he was beaten with **** from this guy2. It was incredible hands guy2 won with. It was just crazy and suddenly guy1 asked if guy2 could see his cards... there was no answer on that question, but guy2 run of like scared rabbit after that question.

Sometimes it feels like it happens.... because there can be players who play hands that should not even be in. But still.. and they win big!!! I don't know, maybe the word is paranoia. :)

:beaten:
I am thinking, I have been trying some calcs.. but they are not near that. And I am still losing even if I play with calcs - I don't see others cards, I have to think on my own, but I can see my chances.

my motto is if I suspect someone is cheating I ask them if they are a cheat or a donk that way if they are cheating they usually floff off cause they don't want caught and amyone cheating is usually para lol! The donks seldom make it right up there in tournies! Just got to keep your eyes open!

The limits that most of us play at are not going to entice any big scheme. Who would put thier freedom on the line for a $1/$2 NLHE game?

II don't know if that has happen on merge too... .

Different software.

The trouble with this sort of thing is it encourages conspiracy theorists in their belief that it's a crooked game. Most people who rant about the software being rigged or people being able to see hole cards are just losers. If anyone did actually manage to find a way of seeing others hole cards who in their right mind would risk it being rumbled in a 5 buck buyin game?
The message is really that we should all remain vigilant but also try to stay as informed as we can. A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing.

Thanks for the update on that story Russ.

the people that write the software hold all the keys, so basically it comes down to who can and do you trust...so far I trust this site. That being said I used to play alot on another site a few guys were talking about a guy moving quickly up in limits almost daily winning anything he played, of course curiosity set in...we followed em around for a few weeks, me and another 2 guys that played together almost daily...all agreed it was the real deal, reported him...and strangly he never came back. So who knows.

Cheating can happen anywhere. No, I don't think I'm the victim of cheating, ok? and i don't think people are being targeted here, either.

It was just some interesting news. No hidden point, or agenda or anything like that.

I don't think Alex or anyone else was implying you believed anything like that was occuring here. He just wanted to put it out there that he believes nothing of the sort is occuring on Merge. We know this software, and we know the admin, and if we really thought this was happening, we would not be here, would we? Thanks for the info in your post. I had no idea this was going on at all. Guess I am under a rock!

I've always been a defender of online poker, but i have to admit after doing a fair amount of research about cheating methods/software and 2 huge scandals in the last year, i'm apt to go live and never come back
