John Juanda takes down his 5th WSOP bracelet (first since 2003) in the longest final table in WSOP history (21+ hours). Down to only 600k chips at one point Juanda maintained his discipline and fought back to eventually end up HU against Stanislav Alekhin.

The HU didn`t quite beat the record set in the 2007 HORSE event but it was close. Key hand was Juanda moving all-in on a king high board, 2 clubs showing with K6o. He looked gutted when Alekhin announced "I call" and then relieved and somewhat surprised when Alekhin turned over 3c 4c for a weak flush draw. Alekhin simply said he was tired and just wanted to finish playing. Both the turn and river missed the Russian he was left with around 750k chips.

The HU wasn`t to last much longer. Alekhin open shoved a couple of times with Juanda simply folding. After a few hands though Juanda made the call with K6o and Alekhin showed A9o. If Alekhin doubled through the match would be on again but the flop came x-6-6 giving Juanda trips and leaving Alekhin needing running aces or nines. The turn was a blank giving Juanda the win. With the win in the bag Juanda failed to notice for a few minutes that the river had brought the case 6 giving Juanda quad sixes FTW. He takes away the prized bracelet (the first won by an American at the WSOPE) and around $1.6 million.

Is K6o now going to be known as the John Juanda?

3rd place was Ivan Demidov whose name might sound familiar. For those that don`t recognise it he is one of the "November 9" and we`ll be seeing more of him at the WSOP ME final table. Two ME final tables in such a short time surely means Demidov will be the new favourite to win the title.
