This weekend I was playing a LIVE £1/£2 side game . After playing for around 2 hours the following hand occurred. I will firstly try to set the scene by giving you the information I had gathered from the players leading up to this point in an attempt to help you play the hand...
The Scenario:
SEAT ONE : Open
SEAT TW0 : A very solid player. He'd really only played AJ or better. This player had a tendency to call most bets, slow play his hands and raise on the river when he thought he had the best hand. STACK : £240
SEAT THREE : Open
SEAT FOUR : A looser player than seat 2. He would play a wider margin of hands but never bet/raised, he was the ultimate calling station and a hard person to bluff. STACK : £180
SEAT FIVE : This was a new player to the table. He had only been seated for 4 hands. The previous hand he went broke, the first hand he had played, when his all-in pre-flop AK didn't hit against seat 6's pocket Queens. So information was very limited here. STACK : £200
SEAT SIX : Despite having QQ the previous hand, this player could only be described has a "madman". He was in nearly ever pot irregardless of position, cost or cards. He would bluff most pots with a small opening bet but never really committed a lot of his stack. This guy truly brought a whole new meaning to the term any two cards. STACK : £480
SEAT SEVEN : Myself. I was really pleased with how I was playing. With a solid table image, and having won a few nice pots, I found myself chipping away quite nicely and amassed a healthy stack over two solid hours of poker. STACK : £430
SEAT EIGHT : Open
SEAT NINE : Open
* The stack sizes are approximates but correct give or take a £1 or £2. *
The Hand :
Seat five had the button, so Seat six posted the SB (£1) and I posted the BB (£2).
Seat two limped UTG, followed by seats four and five. Seat six made up the extra £1 and also flat called putting the pot at £10.
I, in the BB, looked down to find so raised the pot, £12 making it £10 to go. All players barring seat four called the extra £10. So I was out of position playing a four way pot with AA.
The Flop :
The maniac in seat six checked from the SB so I proceeded to bet £28 just over half pot. The more conservative player in seat two, UTG, called my bet as did the new player on the button.
Here commence the dilema... The SB check-raised to £69... What would your next move be...
