View Full Version : Multi-tabling?

How do you run four tables and not get timed out on one every now and again? I've been running two tables and just about keep them going ok. I tried three tables, but found I had three decisions to make in milliseconds and kept on getting timed out. Is there any way to get yourself more time? Also I have my tables on tabs instead of split screens (my prehistoric computer processor can't handle splits), do you think this makes it more or less difficult to multi-table?

I use the tabs as I don't care for the split. I am not sure what you have set but my tabs blink and when not listening to music they signal when its time to act on a table. If my tables aren't full it's difficult to keep up at times depending on how many I have open. If you handle 2 well it will probably just take a little time to adjust to 3rd. Good Luck :)

When I run more than 2 tables I use 2x2grid... it is easier to have a good
view over the tables and the cards, and what players are betting, raising and
so on. If you have the sound on you can hear when people are raising and so on...
You can do your options before it is your time, such as fold for example, if
you know you are going to fold the hand make that choice before it is your
time and you don't have to think about it until next hand. If you know you
are going to check next round, use the check/fold option, if you are going to fold if any bet...
I know often before it is my turn how I will make my next move.
It could be wise to fold more hands when multi-tabling and put more on auto,
if you know ahead what you will do next.
It takes a little time to learn this multi thing... :)
Good luck!

If I could see the small tables I would also set them on grid.
But the other works as well.
Just don't set it on automatic to the front when active. That makes for lots of mistakes.

Ehum, have you tried magnifying glass? :beaten: :o
I cannot run tables on tabs... I always misclick and make huge mistakes. However, I can re-size the tables and let them overlap...It would be easier and better if it wasn't for the PR-banner on every table.

try 12 tabling :P , using tabs as well but its ok - you just need to be fast and use all the buttons (check/fold, fold to any bet ...)

If you only run 4 tables put 1 table in each corner of your monitor and sit yourself in the outside corners ie. topright, topleft, bottomright, bottomleft.
That way you can see yourself at all 4 tables all the time and act before it is your turn.
Good Luck :)

Thanks. Is it possible to move your 'seat' at the table? I thought you just had to grab whichever place was available.

I just tried multi-tabling with the 2x2 grid. It made my head spin. As an experiment I ran 4 Funstep1 tables. I've only got a 15 inch monitor and the cards and bet sizes were hard to see, but I managed to cope OK. It got a bit hairy when there were only 2 or 3 people left on each table. Then it went into overdrive till I got knocked out. I think I might stick to the tabs option till I get a bigger monitor - or bigger brain.

It takes a little while to get use to it. I got 15 inch too... :D
I think it is best to play with that size which feels most comfortable.
Good luck!

Hi
I have been having trouble being the first one to open a table in order to receive double comp points.I only play at the 0.25/0.50 limit holdem tables.
My beef is the same players are hogging all the tables by sitting at table by themselves and then sitting out so that the lobby screen is showing 1/9 players at table. My issue is not with a player doing this with lets say 4 tables but cmon the same player doing it with 12 tables. It doesnt give anyone else a chance to get double points,UNLESS you want to sit waiting in the lobby hoping that carbon opens a new table!FRUSTRATING~~:(

Yep, there's a lot of that going on. Don't know what you can do other than check the times when these guys aren't 'squatting' and dive in there first. Maybe Carbon should time out anyone who has been sitting alone on a table after 10 minutes or so...
