NEW VIP CHANGE - - - MUST READ.

Ok so after many long conversations with live support i have sort of found out what is going to happen. I will post the conversation i just had with support now on here in a bit BUT first i want to blank out the names of the staff and other companied refered too for privacy.

I would also like to say that I was a player on another site up until it went into administration 18 months ago, the scarey thing is, they did EXACTLY the same thing carbon are doing now, (IN NO WAY AM I SAYING THAT CARBON ARE IN FINANCIAL TROUBLE) please read the thread.

You will get a fair equivalent for your cps, there is no doubt about it.Im not oficcial staff , but i have been around long enough to know how this bussiness work and how this guys think.

What happen is that they ussually use noobs for cs, more likely if its 2am for them, so dont espect accurance answers from live chat, emails work better.

as it was said it's an upgrade of the comp point sytem and this will come with a tournament schedule change and a new comp store.
it's actullay impossible to find some equivalence between two different systems! but i'm sure, as some people of the staff said in other threads, that they will find a fair way to give a return on old comp points ! ( like maybe still available for some itm in the comp store)

speculation about merge buisness has become a sport in this forum since a few month! and we all saw what happened recently in the financial world due to speculation lol

The store will be closing down so i know that you will be able to use them to enter new tournaments. Sounds like the same thing to me. If an admin says that trust me it aint just coming from HIM, they all work together whether its fraud, finance or development. If you are really that afraid they are going to go under then you done the right thing taking your money out. But let us be the judge of all of this. I aint saying you aint entitled to your opinions but admin have already tried to tell you there is nothing to worry about. Who are you gonna believe it from? Just because it has Admin under his name doesnt mean he only deals with admin, for all you know he may deal with the finance admin side too remember. For what its worth he AINT forum admin, he's Merge admin. Just give them the benefit of the doubt. Support dont know the ins & outs a lot of the time.

PDC players can convert their points into tournament coupons ?
What about Carbon players ?

The VIP program has been created as a better alternative and to replace the existing comp point system, which while good in its day, has had its time. The new system rewards you where it really counts; in your player wallet. We listened to player requests and have delivered. You are now able to buy into tournaments with points, exchange them for cash, purchase almost anything in the VIP store and loads more.

The program will employ a multi tiered approach and will allow for many more uses of your VIP points. The VIP system and its rewards are briefly explained below.

How the VIP program works

* A five tiered approach, players are assigned a level depending on how many points they earn per month.
* Each level has different rewards and benefits. The higher levels naturally have better rewards.
* Points are earned at the rate of 10 VIP points per $1 of rake.

* A new store where players can purchase merchandise, books, dvds, electronics, xboxes, Ipods, holidays ect.

This is your answer. So depending witch skin your on use em. Carbon you got a store. PDC we got coupon store. I used 50k of my last 56 cause of Jasons post. I sure hope i dont have to use the coupon that fast. One thing i am sure of. There would be nothing more i could use 56k in comp points for after the 60days. doubt durring either. If you have over 250k comp points saved. Maybe you will have a nice option if not, and only have 100k or there abouts. Get yourself a coupon. if your on pdc that is.

I would assume there wont be any tourneys after the 1st where you can win a 10K, 50K, 2K or 1K coupon. As from 1st April all the freeroll coupons will be transferred to VIP points, due to there being no more of the tourneys we have at the mo, only the points will be available for 60 days so you can use them to buy in tourneys. I'm sorry but I think you have got some bad information. There is no 50k monthly freeroll anymore, instead we are running a 50k guaranteed every week. To get entry into this you can enter with $109 cash, or with a $109 deepstack coupon (which there are satellites for) or 5450 VIP points.

I dont know where your other figures came from but they dont make any sense to me either. This is a very generous VIP rewards program and offers a lot of flexibility too, so you have a choice as a player on how you get rewarded.

Lets take a simplified look:

Previous system:


Earn x points and get access to a freeroll, and be up against somewhere in the area of 2500 people to try and cash.


Use the points to purchase items from a store with a small variety of items on offer.


New system:

Earn points and get automatic cash rebates right into your account, depending what tier you are in.


Use those points to enter SnG's, Guaranteeds or even Satellites, to satellite your way into the WEEKLY 50k guaranteed or a Live Event package worth in excess of $10,000


Speaking of 50k guaranteed, do you have any idea how much overlay that tournament is going to have? I know that a straight buyin is not for everyone, but you can always save your points to buyin, or even try and satellite your way in. For the sake of comparison, when we ran the weekly 25k guaranteed we were generally only covering around 20-22k of the tournament, and there was usually about 240 entrants.


You could also choose to use your points to do a points for cash exchange, adding even more cash into your account to go with the rebates.


You could also choose to use your points to buy from the all new store. I know you cant get in there to view the items yet, but this store is MUCH more extensive than the previous store was.


A few other miscellaneous benefits that are tier specific, such as free tournament entry coupons and freerolls.


These rewards are much more flexible than anything we could offer before, and in the long run offer you a lot more value as a player.
