If you play in a tournament at a casino in Vegas on the Strip, when do you tip the dealers and how and how much?

You don't tip dealers in tournaments.
And I would say its a bad idea to play in any smaller tournaments in vegas. they are pretty much Turbo tourneys and whoever donks out more, wins the game.

I suggest ONLY deepstack tournaments in Venetian and Ceasars Palace

If you win the MTT the dealer @ the final table is always tipped depending on the split/pot.

I disagree with you about the smaller tourny's, whoever donks out more wins the game ? A lot eh pish LT.

There's loads eh tournys on the go just have to be selective depending on the amount of time/money/game you want to play. Some tourny's have been known to be a little softer than others.

What im saying, most of the tourneys had stupid blind structures and very low starting stacks. If you want to play, you are welcome to do that. I will stick deepstacks and cash games only in Vegas

Not all low buyin live tournaments are like that. Well, im not sure about Vegas, but casinos ive been in have pretty decent low buyin tournaments. I mean 3000 chips with blinds starting at 25/50 with 30 minute blinds is pretty good for a $25 buyin (a casino ive been in)

My local B&M holds a tournament every Wed. and it sucks. $150. buy-in, 2500 start stack, 20 min blinds beginning at 25-50. The sucky part is the blind structure. It doubles at each level. So at the start of the second hour you're at 200-400.

I moved to Vegas in May, on the 11th to be exact. LTU is right about one thing; the low buyins are turbos and horrible structure. He's wrong about another thing, tho. You should tip the dealers in any tourney IF YOU CASH. even if its just a few dollars. Dealers here deal for $6.25/hr, less than min wage. If you don't cash, don't tip. Also, if you go to the same poker room, day after day, tip the podium peole, too. Or they'll conventiently lose your players, card everyday. And you'll never get called for the game when your name is on a long list. I tips the dealers and the podium people and I ALWAYS gete called and often before any other people on the list, even get called. Shady? Maybe, but its the way of the world. Good service is gained by being nice and tipping in a tipping economy and Vegas lives on a tipping economy.

How much do you tip?
