Edit: If the short stack was actually sitting out I fold. Still call with AA.

Yea he's shoving with any 2 cards but it just depends on what you want. 2 short stacks(one sititng out) so your gonna get top 3 and cash. And you have enuf chips that you can wait some hands til short stacks are out. And when your heads up, anything can happen.

i talked about this to some buddies and this is what we came up with

t's not just folding into the money but folding when you are practically guaranteed second place with two very short stacks out there.

Let me see if I have the math down. According to an ICM calculator, BB's prize pool equity is 33.199%. Folding drops that to 32.688%. If BB calls, then losing drops his equity to zero while winning brings his equity up to 40.245% So, BB must win at least x% of the time, where x%*40.245%-(1-x%)0=32.688% for calling to be +EV as measured by prize pool equity. So, he must win more than 81.2% of the time for calling to be correct.

Pocket kings are 74.9% against the range of any pair, any ace, any two broadway and 80.051% against what PokerStove lists as the top 60% of hands. They are 82.4% against a random hand.

In practice, your prize equity if you fold is going to be a tad higher because one of the two short stacks is sitting out, so you need to win a little bit more than 81.2% of the time, but exactly what tiny fraction more is not worth the effort to calculate.

if he has atc your 82.4% to win, so if u put him on that its a call but it wouldnt make you a ton in the long run so it can go either way. i still call thou
