View Full Version : Runtime error!???

I just took a peek in PDC forum because carbonpoker forum was down and while I waited for carbonpoker forum to wake up I decided to have a look what PDC members are writing in their special part in the forum. We know the forum is shared but some might not know that there is a part of the forum which is not shared, they have splitted us and given each forum a section for respective room. PDC had PDC poker player forum and carbon has Carbon poker players forum. We can't see eachothers posts... but I was reading there.
It surprise med that this runtime error has its own thread in PDC and nothing in carbon. I am asking carbon poker players mainly, do we have runtime error or is it mostly PDC? As I have mentioned in some posts around here, I haven't experienced runtime error since last year in august. And when I am thinking about it, I think I used PDC then. I had just started my career with my PDC nick. I got this error when I used a program, to see stats and other stuff. No need to dig deep in that right now. After I uninstalled this program I didn't have any runtime error either..
Maybe, you people who get this problem doesn't use same program as I did...
But to the subject, I was surprised to see that PDC had its own runtime error thread in Feedback and suggestions: http://forum.pdcpoker.com/showthread.php?t=21312
Carbon players, do you have problems too... when and why and all programs you are running at same time.. it might be interesting for the team to get all the info they can get... that means PDC players can post same thing to.
PDC players please write PDC in your post.
Carbon player please write Carbon in your post.
Let's do what we can to help these guys out, and easiest is to give as much info as possible. Computer standard, programs etc etc.
PS. Keep the thread clean from jokes, personal attacks and of course do not hijack this thread please! If tendency, please mod, clean it. Only serious posts here!

would have shown you how long this has been going on. I'm up late cuz I don't feel well, so did some searching. This goes back to December 2007. Way too many posts to show here for the past two years bec we're talking hundreds and hundreds of posts, but here's a tiny sample why we are all upset. Now you may understand that it occurs with XP and Vista. Boxes above only allow one choice - but in reality they all should be marked for me, December will be 2 years :beaten: I got flamed for my post, hell mine was nothing compared to some I read which were really bad.
Oh, one more thing, I don't know about the others, but in my experience/opinion we do see the same threads/posts whether it is PDC or Carbon. Husband still uses PDC and he sees the same forum threads as I do on Carbon; I did my own little test. I'm on Carbon and I read the identical thread on hubby's PC and he still uses poker.com. Back to business ......

Its been done hundreds of times already Fritz. So, I give up. IMO 2 years and it still occurs I doubt that they will figure it out. Yes, they have tried, but to no avail ...

Unfortunately no. Doesn't seem to make a difference whether it is Vista or XP.

I was actually involved in some of the testing of the new software that went on yesterday. The dev team have made a few changes which so far seems to have fixed this issue, so we hope that 4.4 will spell the end for this problem.

Perhaps now you and others will be more understanding when we complain about these errors - 2 years:rolleyes: All it took was using the search tool :( IMO no offense intended, but the poll is useless because of the above

As a PDC player and a Carbon player I have been lucky enough to never have had the runtime error. (Hope I didn't just jinx myself).
Also, like Fritz, I cannot see the both the PDC Poker Players Forum and the Carbon Poker PLayers Forum at the same time. I can only see the one that goes with whichever login I'm using.
Linda, if you are able to see both sections merged together, that's pretty cool. I wonder if it's because you transferred your account from Poker.com to Carbon when Liam offered it?

Okay ignore my comment above, didn't think it thru clearly enough. :o
Linda if you are seeing what your hubby sees on PDC, then even though your account was moved over to Carbon, your forum access seems to still be only PDC. If you wish to see what other Carbon accounts see, PM me and I'll give you access to my account so you can see what Fritz is talking about.

There are 3 subject forums that are different for the Carbon and PDC forum. They are:
Current Promotions and Forum Contests
Feedback and Suggestions
Frequently Asked Questions
and for ease of explanation I will refer to them as the Carbon or PDC section. All other areas of the forum are the same for all members.
For those of you with both a Carbon and PDC account, the section you see depends on what account you are logged into the forum with. The only people who can see both at the same time are the moderators and admin. As far as I know, any announcements from admin are always posted to both but that is where the duplicate posts end. Any posts made by members are only seen in the sections that they are logged into when writing the post, unless that member then logs into their other account and posts the same thing in that forum. Even as a moderator, if I want to post something so that both Carbon and PDC member see it then I have to post it twice, once in each section. I hope this clears up any confusion about the two different sections of the forum.

Wow Fritz, why don't you just let go of this personal vendetta you apparently have towards me and I have no idea why you do. I harbor no ill feelings about you or anyone actually - bad for my health. Have a wonderful day.
Time to get this thread back on topic of runtime/trap errors for maybe the new players on the site whom are possibly unaware that this has been an ongoing problem for 2 years now. The dev team has certainly tried to fix the problem since then, but without success. Myself, I have nothing more to add other than I experienced it again today. :(

Thanks Joyce for a reasonable explanation, but right now I am on Carbon and top says http://forum.carbonpoker.com  I don't even have a PDC account anymore, but hubby does. I'm confuzzled, but Honsey did clear up a few things, like the areas that are 'shared' and not shared. I thought everything was shared cuz on husband's PC (he only plays on PDC) it appeared that he was seeing the same posts as myself on Carbon. So now we all know - not shared, per Honsey:
Current Promotions and Forum Contests
Feedback and Suggestions
Frequently Asked Questions
"All other areas of the forum are the same for all members." (Honsey)
The feedback and suggestions thread I thought were shared, but according to Honsey that thread is not, so now I know :)

It is not an important subject, but I experienced the same as survivor at my mom's computer - when it comes to the forum.
From the beginning I couldn't log in on PDC (with my PDC-nick) from my computer.. I tried at Mom's house and it was working there. After that I logged out and logged in on carbon, and then I got PDC logotype on top of the forum.
I cleaned the cookies and temprary internet files... I did same thing at my computer back at my place and suddenly could log in on both carbon and PDC without getting the wrong logotype.

for the first couple of yrs i played on poker.com/pdc, i almost never had the runtime error. but now that i got a new comp, it happens multiple times a day. i don't pay enough attention to recognize what might trigger it nor do i know about computers to have any theories but one major diff between this comp n my old one is the browser it uses. i used strictly internet explorer on the old one, this one i mainly use google chrome i think it's called

There is no meaning to scream in here! This is only a forum, no support or so.
Best effect is to send an e-mail to support.

I had it a few times about a year ago with an expensive HP computer running Window XP. In March of this year I had a power outage and it zapped my HP and either ruined the power supply or the mother board, I'm not sure which because I haven't checked it out yet.
Instead I just ran down to Wal-Mart and bought me a cheap $198 e-machine computer running Windows Vista and haven't had any runtime error problems since....but like I said I only had it a couple of times with the HP machine.
I run Firefox on both....and the problem happened on CarbonPoker
