I made a carbon account and was diggin through the player admin on there, and was checking the list of pros they had, and I found this

Russ Hamilton

DOB: ?

Education: University Dropout.

Favourite Game: Texas Hold Em.

Famous Words:
"Winning the championship was something that I wanted more than anything else in the world, It puts you into an elite group of poker players that very few people can enter."

Russ Hamilton is a professional poker player whose live seat winnings total over $1,500,000. Like many of his fellow poker professionals Russ Hamilton is a college drop out. Prior to dropping out he was studying a degree in electrical engineering, but a meeting with one of his professors led him to make a decision to drop out and play poker full time as he would be able to earn more than he would if he carried on to complete his university studies.

Starting his poker career as rounder playing underground games in Detroit, where he enjoyed moderate success. He later moved to Las Vegas at 36 and joined a tournament black jack team. Here Hamilton found his niche and managed to rack up some reasonable winnings until tournaments introduced new rules and regulations banning black jack pro's. In order to keep his professional gaming career alive he turned his energies back to poker and shortly after racked up some big wins to his name.

The most prominent placing was winning the 1994 World Series of Poker Main Event. To date it is the only bracelet and title he holds despite having a number of money finishes on his record. He has also made one world poker tour final table and two money finishes.

In recent years Hamilton has become an expert on the gaming industry often acting as a consultant to online poker room UB. One of the individuals responsible for growing the card room and recruiting many of the sites big name professionals such as Phil Hellmuth in an ongoing effort to promote the online poker room.

In addition to his poker career he has notched several other world championships of various casino games on his belt and is also recognised as the founder of the Ultimate Black Jack tour which began in 2005.

Really? This is the article he has????? How about one where he was the most responsible party in the UB Cheat Scandal???

The list has to be outdated, this network (Merge) is regulated by The Kahnawake Gaming Commission just like the site he cheated. I really doubt he is associated with any site regulated by them.

Just in case someone has been living under a rock.

Online poker cheater

Since winning his World Series bracelet, Russ Hamilton has served as a gaming industry expert, including serving as a consultant for the online poker cardroom (edit) where he was involved in recruiting some prominent poker players, including Phil Hellmuth, to promote the site. (edit)

On September 29, 2008, the Kahnawake Gaming Commission stated it had found clear and convincing evidence that, between the approximate dates of May 2004 to January 2008, Russ Hamilton was the main person responsible for, and benefiting from, multiple cheating incidents at (edit).[6][7]

Hey guys,

Please don't worry as Carbon/PDC/Merge have nothing to do with Russ Hamilton... This is obviously old site content that is used for SEO rankings for unique content. Im sure you'll realise that not every pro in that list does or has played at Carbon (some died before our poker room was born... Stu Ungar is a Carbon pro, lol).

I've obviously asked for this profile to be removed since this cheat deserves no recognition.

PS: I've been with PDC (originally poker.com) for 4.5yrs (live 5yrs) and Carbon has been live for roughly 2.5 to 3yrs...

I have to check the exact launch dates, but that's a decent guestimate.

I was looking at the list last night also and saw stu was listed and thot this was just profiles of pro's.........not necessarily pro's here............and I think Liam has it nailed..

Longer ago than this i tried to sign up with poker.com and automatically was put under the carbon skin.Whether it had it's own link or web site at that time I don't know, but i almost took it back off until I recognized the same dolphin room that my buddy was playing on at poker.com.
